Fall Transitions with GiGi New York :: Carry All Tote Review

Today's post is a little different from my standard daily outfits. Ever since I received the GiGi New York Brown Carry All Tote, I've been carrying it everywhere with me. I went to a law seminar last night and I brought it. I grabbed dinner with a few friends this week and brown tote came with me. Brown tote also sat at the base of the Respondent's table while I was in court on Tuesday. It's a great everyday bag for every purpose and if any of you are looking for the perfect bag, I hope this review helps! P.S. this bag also comes in black!

My favorite part about this bag is the richness of the leather color and the quality of the leather. The brown isn't your traditional cognac but it's also not a super dark brown. It's a rich deep brown with slight red undertones that just give it a beautiful classic type of feel. The leather is Vachetta and is textured. I prefer textured leather especially for everyday use because any scratches are less visible due to the natural texture of the leather.

One of the first things I look for in a bag is the quality and durability of the straps. I carry a lot on a day to day basis and even more for work. I need a bag where the straps are sturdy and secure. These straps are all leather and are stitched onto the base of the bag on all sides of where the strap surface overlaps with the bag surface. This ensures that weight is distributed evenly and that there will be no broken straps over time.

I generally prefer a couple of pockets in my bag so that I can use them to keep the insides organized. This tote only has one inner pocket and although I had initially hoped for more, I've actually gotten use to just the one pocket. And I've also realized that most of my items are in little pouches anyways (coin pouch, cosmetic pouch, etc) so I didn't really need anymore pockets. I have been keeping 2 pens and my business card holder in this inner pocket.

I've always been a HUGE fan of unlined leather bags, which is also why I'm obsessed with the Coach Classics collection. This tote does have an unlined interior which I personally love, and it hasn't had the initial flaking problem that some other unlined bags have. Sometimes when you first use an unlined bag, you'll get some small leather fallout on your stuff but I didn't have this problem with this tote. The base however is finished smooth leather. This bag is pretty deep and I'm able to fit my Macbook Pro vertically which is awesome.

Lastly, I'm in love with the small details that GiGi New York took the time to add. Little golden feet on the bottom keep me assured that I can place my bag anywhere without having to worry about the leather getting scratched or dirty. I'm one of those who will usually keep my bag behind me, on my chair, at a restaurant or a waiting room, but with little feet, I become a little less OCD.

All in all, I'm in love with this bag and it's definitely going to be my go-to for the Fall! Check out the GiGi New York Brown Carry All Tote in Vachetta Leather here and the Black version here!
